Steve is one of the founders of NC Coastal Volleyball Club, is the club director and coaches the U15 and U12 Black teams this season. Last season he coached at the USAV High Performance National training center in Colorado Springs, was head coach of the NC Coastal U15 Black team, was director for the NC Coastal Beach program and the Coastal Cadets skills program. Steve was a clinican for team camps for Gold Medal Squared this past summer. He is also the Noble Middle School and Cape Fear Academy Middle School head coach. Steve has earned his USAV CAP II certification, USAV VCAP, is a certified USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT COACH INSTRUCTOR and a NATIONAL USAV HP COACH INSTRUCTOR.
This is Annie’s second year with NC Coastal as a U17 Blue coach and is in her fourth year coaching volleyball. She is the head JV Coach and Varsity assistant coach for North Brunswick High School and the Leland Middle School assistant coach. Annie played volleyball as a collegiate club player for East Carolina University. She holds certifications from the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Association) in FUNDAMENTALS OF COACHING and CONCUSSION IN SPORTS, and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Hava Davis joins the staff of NC Coastal as the U13 Black head coach and U15 Blue co-head coach, bringing 25 years of club coaching experience and seven years coaching on the DI & DII collegiate levels. His club expertise includes coaching athletes ages 8-18, working as an assistant club director and coaching international high performace teams. Hava was the assistant coach at Concordia University Irvine, University of California Irvine, and most recently the associate head coach at Hofstra University. In addition to coaching two teams for NC Coastal, he will be training athletes in our Coastal Cadets program, travel teams skills sessions, open gyms, private & group lessons and acting as a resource for athletes seeking a college volleyball career. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Steve is the U15 Black co-head coach at NC Coastal this season and coached the U12 Black team last year. Coach Goff has had a passion for volleyball since he started playing in the Navy in the 1970’s. While in the Navy, he had the opportunity to coach throughout the country. Upon retirement from the Navy, he was hired as the head coach at Mid-Atlantic Christian University. After two years, he accepted the head coaching position at Elizabeth City State University. Steve has been coaching club volleyball for eight years and currently coaches the St. Mark middle school team. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Chris is in his fourth year coaching with NC Coastal and is head coach for the U14 Black team. Last year he coached the U13 Black team, was assistant on the U14 Black team and was a coach for the NC Coastal beach program. At UNCW, he played on the Seahawk Men’s Club team and began playing competitive beach volleyball. Chris graduated from UNCW with a degree in Exercise Science and will be directing NC Coastal’s strength and conditioning program this season. He has been certified through USAW as a Sports Performance Coach and has his Personal Training Certification through the American College of Sports Medicine. Chris is also USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT and USAW SAFESPORT certified.
Ellen is in her third season coaching with NC Coastal and is head coach of the U16 Black team this season. She was the NC Coastal U16 Black head coach last season and just finished her second year as the Cape Fear Academy Varsity Head Coach. Before relocating to the Wilmington area in 2016, Ellen was the head varsity volleyball coach/program director for Charlotte Latin School and a National team coach for Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club in Charlotte. She has experience coaching teams and players from middle school through 18. Ellen holds the following coaching credentials: USAV CAP II, USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT, GOLD MEDAL SQUARED CERTIFIED COACH, AAU POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE CERTIFICATION.
Justin is in his sixth year coaching with NC Coastal, is the head coach for the U14 Blue team and assistant coach for U17 Black this season. Last season he was the NC Coastal U14 Black head coach, U13 Black assistant coach, as well as the assistant program director and a coach for the NC Coastal Beach Program. He was the volleyball director at Dig’N’Dive, administrating and coaching in their beach volleyball program. Justin played volleyball for the UNCW Men’s Club team and was president of the Seahawks’ Club team for two years. He plays competitive outdoor beach and grass tournaments. Justin holds a USAV CAP I coaching certification and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Alec joins NC Coastal as the U14 Black assistant coach. He has experience coaching summer camps and coached the Freshman boys team at Plainfield Central High School in Illinois. Alec played club volleyball for Illinois State University and now plays for the Seahawks Men’s Club team after tranferring to UNCW this semester. He played five years of club and four years of high school volleyball in his native Illinois. Alec has recently become a competitive beach player. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Daniel joins NC Coastal as the U18 head coach, Coastal Cadets coach, runs skills sessions for the club and comes with impresive coaching credentials. He has two seasons on staff with the UNCW Seahawks beach team and one season with the indoor program. Prior to coming to UNCW, Daniel served as an assistant coach for Sweden’s Junior National team in 2017. From 2014-17, he was the head coach of the Women’s A-Team for the Gislaved Volleybollklub, which competed in the professional Elite Series. Before moving into the coaching ranks, Daniel played from 2002-07 with several professional clubs in his native Sweden. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Lauren joined NC Coastal last season as the U14 White assistant coach and will be head coach of the U17 Blue team this year. Lauren just finished her frst school season on the coaching staff for JV and Varsity at Coastal Christian High School and specializes in setter training. Before relocating to Wilmington last year, she was an assistant coach at Urbana University in Ohio and earned All-American honors as a setter for Kentucky Christian University. Lauren will lead the setter’s training program this summer for NC Coastal. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Sydney is in her first year with NC Coastal as the U14 Silver assistant coach. She assisted the Cape Fear Academy varsity volleyball team this past season and has experience coaching skills camps for SRVC in Maryland. She is currently enrolled in UNCW as a sophomore and is a member of the UNCW Women’s Club Volleyball team. She played seven years of club volleyball as well as four years of varsity high school volleyball. Sydney is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Courtney is in her first year with NC Coastal as the U14 Silver head coach. She has coached middle school volleyball at Wilmington Christian Academy and has experience coach camps and clincs for both indoor and beach volleyball. She played indoor volleyball for ten years, holding the digs stat record for WCA and played sand for six years, most recently playing for three years on the UNCW Women’s Sand Volleyball team. Courtney is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Marissa is in her fourth year coaching at NC Coastal as the U12 head coach this season. She has been the U12 head coach and assistant coach in past seasons and also coached the JV and Varsity volleyball teams at Harrells Christian Academy. Marissa played six years of school volleyball and four years on the club level. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Morgan joins NC Coastal as the U13 Blue head coach. She is the Middle School coach at Myrtle Grove Christian School, coached indoor JV and Varsity and sand volleyball at Laney High School for two years, and has previous club coaching experience on the U12, U13 & U17 levels. Morgan played for the UNCW Womens Club team and is presently an elemenatary and pre-school teacher at Myrtle Grove. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Josh is in his sixth year coaching for NC Coastal and coaches the U16 Black team. He is an NC Coastal Beach program coach and was a USAV High Performance regional assistant coach in 2014. Josh played for and was captain of the UNCW Men’s Club team and is an avid outdoor player competing in beach and grass tournaments. Josh hold a USAV CAP II CERTIFICATION and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Caroline is in her sixth year coaching and is in her fourth year with NC Coastal as the U17 Blue and U14 White head coach. Caroline just finished her first season at Cape Fear Acadmey, head coaching the JV team and assisting on Varsity. She has been playing and refereeing sand volleyball for four years and coaching beach volleyball for two years. Caroline played on the UNCW Women’s club volleyball team for four years and was president and coach of the Seahawk Women’s Club team for three years. She specializes in training hitters and setters and has experience running camps and doing private/small group lessons. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Tricia will coach her second season with NC Coastal as the U17 Black head coach. She has an impressive background, coaching on the collegiate level for four years as Assistant Coach for Lock Haven University in addition to running the university’s summer camps, coaching 16’s and 17’s on the club level for FAVA, working as a clinician for six summers for Gold Medal Squared running high school camps, and coaching high school and middle school players at UNC Pembroke’s summer camps. Tricia was a four year varsity player for UNC Pembroke. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
