Steve is one of the founders of NC Coastal Volleyball Club, is the club director and coaches the U15 and U18 Black teams this season. Last season he coached at the USAV High Performance National training center in Colorado Springs, was head coach of the NC Coastal U14 Black team, was director for the NC Coastal Beach program and the Coastal Cadets skills program. He is also the Noble Middle School and Cape Fear Academy Middle School head coach. Steve has earned his USAV CAP III certification, USAV VCAP, is a certified USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT COACH INSTRUCTOR and a NATIONAL USAV HP COACH INSTRUCTOR.
Justin is in his fourth year coaching with NC Coastal, is the head coach for the U14 Black team and assistant coach for U13 Black this season. Last season he was the NC Coastal U13 Black head coach as well as the assistant program director and a coach for the NC Coastal Beach Program. He is the volleyball director at Dig’N’Dive, administrating and coaching in their beach volleyball program. Justin played volleyball for his high school in Buck’s County, Pennsylvania and the UNCW Men’s Club team; he was president of the Seahawks’ Club team for two years. He plays competitive outdoor beach and grass tournaments. Justin holds a USAV CAP I coaching certification and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Josh is in his sixth year coaching for NC Coastal and coaches the U15 Black team. He is an NC Coastal Beach program coach and was a USAV High Performance regional assistant coach in 2014. Josh played high school volleyball in Sandy Springs, Maryland, played for and was captain of the UNCW Men’s Club team and is an avid outdoor player competing in beach and grass tournaments. Josh hold a USAV CAP II CERTIFICATION and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Ellen is in her second year coaching with NC Coastal and coaches the U16 Black team this season. She was the NC Coastal U15 Black head coach and a high school volleyball official last season. She is presently the Cape Fear Academy Varsity Head Coach. Before relocating to the Wilmington area in 2016, Ellen was the head varsity volleyball coach/program director for Charlotte Latin School and the 15U National team coach for Carolina Juniors Volleyball Club in Charlotte. She has experience coaching teams and players from middle school through 18. Ellen holds the following coaching credentials: USAV CAP II, USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT, GOLD MEDAL SQUARED CERTIFIED COACH, AAU POSITIVE COACHING ALLIANCE CERTIFICATION.
Chris Hawk is in his third-year coaching with NC Coastal, is head coach for the U13 Black team and assistant coach for U14 Black this season. Last year he coached the U14 Black team and was a coach for the NC Coastal Beach Program. He graduated from UNCW with a degree in Exercise Science. While there, he played on the Seahawk Men’s Club team and began playing competitive beach volleyball. He also played club for NC Elite Volleyball Club in high school. Chris is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Caroline is in her fifth year coaching and is in her third year with NC Coastal as the U14 White head coach. She has been playing and refereeing sand volleyball for four years and coaching beach volleyball for one year. She is a senior at UNCW, playing on the Women’s club volleyball team for four years and was president of the Seahawk Women’s Club team for three years. Formerly a club player in the DC area, Caroline hales from Laurel, Maryland and specializes in training hitters and setters. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Marissa is in her second year coaching at NC Coastal as the U12 assistant coach this season. She was the NC Coastal U12 head coach last year. She also coached the JV volleyball team at Harrells Christian Academy and assisted the varsity team for their 2016 season. Marissa played six years of school volleyball and four years on the club level. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Steve is coaching the U12 Black team at NC Coastal this season. Coach Goff has had a passion for volleyball since he started playing in the Navy in the 1970’s. While in the Navy, he had the opportunity to coach throughout the country. Upon retirement from the Navy, he was hired as the head coach at Mid-Atlantic Christian University. After two years, he accepted the head coaching position at Elizabeth City State University. Steven has been coaching club volleyball for seven years and currently coaches the St. Mark middle school team. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Connor is coaching the U16 Black team in his first season with NC Coastal. He is in his third year coaching at Laney High School, two years as the varsity assistant and this year he is the JV Head Coach. He played middle hitter for UNCW’s Men’s Club team for three years and is a competitive beach player. Connor is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certifed.
Jocelyn is in her first year coaching with NC Coastal Volleyball Club. She is the Assistant Varsity coach at Cape Fear Academy and specializes in training the program’s setters. Jocelyn played indoor volleyball as a setter for her high school team and on the club level. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Talita is in her second year coaching with NC Coastal as the U13 Blue head coach. She was our U13 Blue Head Coach last season, coached U14 Boys for the Miami Hype Volleyball Club and coached as a Student Assistant Volleyball Coach for Mount Olive University. Talita played NCAA Division II volleyball for Georgian Court University and Mount Olive University. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Nick is a returning coach to NC Coastal Volleyball and we are grateful to have him back on staff. This season he coaches the U16 Blue team. He is in his eighth year coaching USAV Juniors and has experience coaching U14 through U17 players. Nick also has the experience of coaching/parenting his two daughters through the club volleyball system, giving him valuable insight in working club volleyball families. Nick began playing volleyball in the mid-80s as a collegiate club player for the University of Arkansas, continued to play indoor with Ozark Volleyball Club and has also played competitive outdoor volleyball, primarily in doubles tournaments. He is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
This is Annie’s first year with NC Coastal as the U14 Blue head coach and is in her third year coaching volleyball. She is the Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach for North Brunswick High School and the Leland Middle School Assistant Coach. Annie played volleyball as a collegiate club player for East Carolina University and as a high school player for Fayetteville Area Volleyball Association (FAVA) and Sandford High School. She holds certifications from the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) in FUNDAMENTALS OF COACHING and CONCUSSION IN SPORTS, and is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
Tricia is joining NC Coastal as the U15 Blue head coach this season with an impressive coaching background. She coached on the collegiate level for four years as Assistant Coach for Lock Haven University in addition to running the university’s summer camps, coached 16’s and 17’s on the club level for FAVA, worked as a clinician for six summers for Gold Medal Squared Elite Volleyball Training running high school camps, and coached high school and middle school players at UNC Pembroke’s summer camps. Tricia was a four year varsity player for UNC Pembroke. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
This is Emma’s first year coaching with NC Coastal as the U15 Blue assistant coach and her third year coaching juniors volleyball. Last season she was head coach on the U15 club level. Emma just completed her third season as a NCHSAA volleyball official in the Coastal Plains Region and is a finance student at UNC Wilmington. She has been playing volleyball for eight years which started with the Twin Rivers Volleyball Club in her home town of New Bern. Emma holds certifications for CONCUSSION IN SPORTS and is USAV/SAFESPORT certified.
This is Audrey’s first year coaching for NC Coastal as the U16 Blue assistant coach. She previously coached the U14 team for Allegheny Elite in the Outer Banks of NC. She is a sophomore at UNCW with eight years of volleyball experience. After one semester of NCAA beach volleyball at UNCW, she decided to go back indoors and is currently the vice president of the UNCW women’s club volleyball team. Hitting and blocking are Audrey’s specialties. She is USAV IMPACT/SAFESPORT certified.
